Located 170 km away from Hanoi, Halong Bay is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Halong Bay covers an area of over 1,500 km, dotted with thousands of rocky islands, most of them made of limestone.

Traveling to Halong bay, you can enjoy such activities as cruising, karst landscape, caves discovery, small secluded beaches, floating fishing villages, fresh local seafood, and kayaking.

The countless large and small islands of different shapes and sizes rise from the sea along a 200km stretch from the estuary of the Bach Dang river to Tra Co beach. Local fishermen have given many of them evocative names according to their shapes including: Cone-shape Cookie, Banana, Small Fish, Tortoise, Nail, Wading Ox, and Wallowing Buffalo. The islands are riddled with caves and grottoes offering spectacular stalactite displays. Bo Nau cave, Dau Go grotto and Trinh Nu grotto are especially worth seeing.

Titop Island

Not far from the Surprise cave, Ti Top Island offers a beautiful beach for travelers wishing to relax there and bath in its warm waters, at its top travelers will not miss a chance to catch the splendid view of Halong Bay.

About 14km east of Bai Chay is Ti Top island The with clean and clear water and sandy beach shaped like a crescent moon.

The name of this island is based on a historical event: 22 November 1962, the island had welcomed the German astronaut Titov, a hero of the Soviet Union, accompanied by Ho Chi Minh. The latter, called Ti Top Island in memory of this visit. June 27, 1997, Ti Tov returned to the island that bears his name.

Halong Bay Floating Village

Apart from natural beauty, Halong bay is also home to four fishing villages in which Cua Van is the biggest with 176 houses and nearly 750 residents. The fishing village remain both tangible and intangible marine culture attracts a lot of travelers both domestic and international market.

Cua Van fishing village situates 30 km from Halong pier in the peaceful bay of Van Gia. Coming here guests can contemplate the scenery of boat anchoring in front of floating houses, warm smile of children whose skin is tanned by sunlight, join in some activities: rowing coracle, catching fish, shrimp,,, and discover the daily life of these fishermen.

Cave of Surprise

Sung Sot (Surprise ) cave had it name from the French. It is one of three most beautiful caves in Halong bay. Located on Bo Hon island which also houses the Trinh Nu cave (Virgin cave).

This cave is the attractive spot, arranged for easy access. It is illuminated by colorful artificial light make rock concretions less dull.
