The best way to get to Nam Po from Hanoi is to take a flight from Hanoi to Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province. Upon your arrival at Dien Bien Phu airport, rent a car with driver, or catch a taxi to get to Nam Po district. There are also direct buses from Dien Bien Phu city to Nam Po, with few daily departures.

Traveling to Nam Po by road from Hanoi, take the national road #6 Hanoi – Son La – Dien Bien Phu, following then the provincial road from Dien Bien Phu city to Nam Po. You can also reach this area by following the new highway Hanoi – Lao Cai, then Sapa, Lai Chau and Nam Po. The stretch of road goes uphill and downhill alternately with many sharp bends.

The district climate is monsoon tropical in altitude with low temperature and few rain in winter, hot and heavy rain in summer, Vietnam weather. Average annual temperature is 21-230C, lowest temperatures occur from December to February of the following year (14-180C), from April to September average temperature is 250C. Dry season lasts from October to April of the following year.
